Yes — completely free. No credit card required to sign up or to send screening requests. We only charge for the optional criminal background / credit report add-on.
How does the tenant connect their bank? ▼
We use Plaid, the leading bank connectivity platform trusted by thousands of apps. The tenant receives a secure link, clicks it, and connects their bank in about 2 minutes. You never see their login credentials.
What's the difference between Canada and US screening? ▼
The free tier is similar for both countries. US screenings additionally include payroll verification (direct connection to ADP, Workday, Gusto etc.) and full liabilities data (credit cards, loans, mortgages). Canada does not have these due to Plaid's regional product availability.
How long does the criminal background check take? ▼
Criminal background checks are manually fulfilled by our team. Once payment is received, we target delivery within 24 hours via email.
Is the tenant's data secure? ▼
Yes. All bank connections use Plaid's encrypted, permissioned infrastructure. We never store banking credentials. Reports are accessible only to the landlord who requested the screening.
